Two-way radio communications with visitors

Two-Way Radios Are More Than Just “Push-To-Talk”.

While the greatest benefit of two-way radio use is “collective intelligence” (described in an earlier blog post), two-way radios can be used for more than just simple PTT (push-to-talk) style communications.

Give all your employees access to your two-way radio system

Your two-way radio system can be integrated into your PBX/phone system, so users who don’t normally use a walkie-talkie can access the radio system and talk to the necessary groups instantly. Janitorial, facilities, maintenance, security – all of these teams, who normally use walkie talkies, can be reached users on your PBX. Just dial an extension and you’re live on the two-way radio system.

Keep an eye on mother nature or other civil emergencies

Your two-way radio system can be connected to a weather alert receiver so weather watches and warnings can be transmitted over your radio system, keeping your staff safe and informed. Other civil emergencies; e.g., Amber Alert, Silver Alert, etc., are also able to be broadcast over your two-way radio system.

Broadcast audible alarms from your equipment

If you have equipment that monitors your systems, and generates audible alarms – either verbal or non-verbal, we can integrate those alarms into your two-way radio system so the right team of employees can respond quickly to rectify the situation. PC based systems as well. If it has some sort of audio output, chances are we can integrate it into your two-way radio system. No more control operator sitting in front of a screen. Your team can be out in the field, being productive, and able to receive and respond to real time alarms. Panic buttons, door bells, proximity alarms, equipment status, etc..

Access control and monitoring

Two-way radio systems can be used to open and close gates and doors with the push of a button. No more person in a guard shack. An employee anywhere in range can talk to a guest, through a two-way radio, and open doors or gates for them to enter the premises. Additionally, the opening or closing of a door can be monitored through your two-way radio system so you can see when certain areas are being accessed.

Visitor assistance

If you have visitors coming to your facility, you can receive them and be notified using callbox technology. Again, no staff member sitting at a desk receiving guests. The guest presses a button on a callbox device and is connected to the two-way radio system, so any employee in range can respond to them and notify the correct party of the guest’s arrival.

Stream live video from your two-way radio

A picture is worth one thousand words, no? Well, when that holds true, we have systems where you can send live video from your walkie-talkie to all users in your group or select users. The live video is broadcast with live two-way radio audio as well, for the ultimate in remote communications.
